Founded in 1985, China Tobacco Yunnan Import & Export Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Tobacco Corporation Yunnan Provincial Company. The business scope covers the export of tobacco leaf, import of cigarette, and the import and export of redrying machineries and spare parts for CNTC Yunnan. The major export varieties of tobacco include Flue-cured tobacco, Oriental tobacco, Burley, Sun-cured tobacco and by-products.
The company has seven divisions, including two business departments, namely Tobacco Leaf Export Department, Import Department.; five internal departments, namely Administration Office, Corporate Management Department, Financial department, Audit and Asset Management Department, Mass Work Department; two wholly-owned subsidiaries, namely Yunnan Yunhui Transport Service Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Talfook Logistics Co., Ltd., one holding company: Yunnan Baoshan Oriental Tobacco Co, Ltd., two shareholding companies, namely Yunnan Binchuan Burley Tobacco Co, Ltd. and Yunnan Tobacco Redrying Co, Ltd..
The company is composed of professional managers and employees. As of the end of 2011, 12 employees hold the postgraduate degree, accounting for 17% of the total staff member; 47 employees hold the bachelor degree, accounting for 67% of the total ; 32 employees hold the intermediate professional titles, 13 workers hold the junior professional titles, respectively accounting for 45.71% and 18.84% of the total.
Under the leadership of Yunnan Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and China Tobacco International Corporation, and with the support of local suppliers, the company is committed to building an international brand of Yunnan tobacco, carries out agronomical exchanges and cooperation with the world famous cigarette manufacturers and international dealers. The company actively introduces advanced practice of tobacco production and management from the international market, elevates the production level of Yunnan tobacco, and creates Yunnan tobacco brand name in the world market. Annual tobacco export is more than 80,000 tons, accounting for more than half of the national volume; annual export value is $ 340 million.
In order to build Yunnan into the key national tobacco export base and oriental tobacco production base, and accelerate the internationalized development of Yunnan tobacco, the company will continue to practice the common value of “Prioritizing National Benefit and Consumer’s Interest” and core value of “Benefit the Country and People, Achieve Great Love and Success”. The company will reinforce the production of flue-cured tobacco and sun-cured tobacco and promote the tobacco export business.
